A Victorian house which had been repointed badly in sand and cement mortar. The brickwork has been power cleaned, we then raked out and repointed using a traditional lime mortar.
We have reduced the openings and replaced the French Doors, which had been added to the house in the 70s, with handmade timber box sash windows. These have the traditional sash cords & weights and dummy glazing bars to give the impression of the traditional Victorian sash window but with the benefits of a modern day sealed units. All bricks used were handmade and individually selected to obtain the best match to the existing brickwork.
